Dear Fellow Shomer Yoshon,

As we approach the 4th yahrzeit of our father Reb Yoseph ben Yehoshua z”l,
the void left by his sudden petira hasn’t diminished, neither on a personal
nor a communal level. We were, unfortunately, wholly unprepared to take
over his life’s work on Project Chodosh. We realize that the public
suffered together with us. We went through many growing pains behind the
scenes but with Hashem’s help, things seem to be finally falling into
place. With the prodding and encouragement of many anxious consumers, and
subsequent consultation with our daas Torah, the Herman family has
committed to continuing Project Chodosh. To that end we have hired a full
time-staff, headed by our niece, Mrs. C Rosskamm, who was directly trained
by our father a”h. Mrs. Rosskamm’s all-encompassing knowledge of all
aspects of Project Chodosh is breathtaking. The Project would not have
survived until now without her, and her
leadership and guidance are indispensable to all Shomrei Yoshon. Since the
inception of Project Chodosh Rav Avrohom Greenfeld Shlit”a has been working
closely with our father a”h and has graciously agreed to continue.

To date, The Project was able to cover expenses through donations and by
the sale of the Guides, with our father covering the occasional shortfall.
With the wisdom of hindsight, we realize that he single handedly did the
work of an entire team, always without remuneration. Now that he is gone,
this model is unsustainable. You are witness to the struggles we have
endured to bring the information you rely on to the public. With our new
structure, we are looking at an annual budget of approximately $200,000. We
are appealing to those who have made use of the Guide throughout the years
to help cover our new budget.

Our father’s yahrzeit is on 5 Shvat. Any learning or mitzva that can be
dedicated l’iluy nishmas Reb Yoseph ben Yehoshua, would be appreciated.
Additionally, we will be initiating a crowdfunding campaign at
https://www.rayze.it/projectchodosh on our father’s yahrzeit with the hope
to significantly cover the budget. Please understand that The Project now
depends on donations to keep it running. Without significant contributions
there is no way we will be able to continue this vital work. Dedication
