Please keep this supplement with your Guide and consult for changes to the
Guide. It is organized using the Section numbers used in the Guide for
enhanced ease of use.

*See Section 8.1 for new information about Cheerios sold in Israel and
Quaker oats made in Canada.*

*4.1 Cakes, cookies and crackers*

ב *Kemach* *Oatmeal Cookies* have a Chodosh Code of 11/02/13. Kemach *Pita
chips:* The Sea salt pita chips have a Chodosh code of 06 07 13 (1 year).
Multigrain pita chips are probably Chodosh at this time. Under the
Hashgocho of Rabbi Nosson N. Horowitz.

ב *Liebers* cookies and crackers are all Yoshon unless they contain oat
meal. Even if they contain whole wheat flour they are also Yoshon, unless
they were produced in Brazil. Therefore, graham snackers and other cookies
are also Yoshon, even if they have whole wheat flour, unless they were
produced in Brazil. Under the hashgocho of Rav Weissmandl.

ד *Duncan Heins* – See Section 6.5 below for corrected information

*5.Noodles and other pasta**   *

*5.1 Regular noodles, pasta, mandlen and croutons*

*ד **De Cecco* Pasta: Whole Wheat Pasta Chodosh date July 2013 (1 year
after packing), Egg noodles, tricolor pasta and pasta with spinach Chodosh
date July 2014 (2 years after packing), Semolina pasta and organic pasta
July 2015 (3 years after packing).

*ד **Goodsman’s Rice & Vermicceli* see Manischewitz below.

*ד **Manischewitz* pasta Chodosh date Aug 16 14 (2 years after packing).
Alternatively,  the Chodosh code may be 2284 (228=day of the year,
4=year+2)

*ד**Mother’s* Egg Noodles have a Chodosh Code of 2283 (228= day of year,
3=year+1) or the opposite order 3228 (3=year+1, 228= day of year)

*5.2 Chow mein noodles*

*ב **Kemach* Chow Mein Noodles: Fine and Wide Chow Mein Noodles have a
Chodosh code of 0712H (07=day, 12=year, H=August in alph. Order). Extra
Fine and Extra Wide Chow Mein Noodles have a Chodosh Code of 2112H. Under
the Hashgocho of Rabbi Nosson N. Horowitz.

*ב **Leiber’s* Chow Mein Noodles are Yoshon through a code of 0911.Under
Hashgocho of Rabbi Weissmandl.

*6.3 High gluten or bread flour*

*ד **Gold Medal* Better for Bread and Better for Bread wheat blend code Feb
15, 2014, not 2015 as written in the Guide.

*6.5 Cake and other mixes*

*ד **Duncan Hines*: All mixes for Brownies, Cookies and Muffins have a
Chodosh Code of  Feb. 9, 2014 (18 months after packing). Cake mixes and
Oven Ready items  code is Aug 9, 2013 (12 months after packing)

*8.1 Breakfast cereals*

*ב** General** Mills Cheerios sold in Israel. *The O-U in the USA and the
O-U in Israel have issued differing advisories regarding the status of
Cheerios cereals sold under the Nestle label in Israel. The latest advisory
of the O-U main office in the USA still applies the same guidelines for the
Cheerios in Israel as they have been advising for those being sold in the
USA. Namely, wheat and wheat starch listed in the ingredients are Yoshon.
If WHEAT GERM is listed then the Chodosh date on the package is Aug 16 '13.
If there is no wheat germ but there is barley (not malt) such as Multigrain
Cheerios, the Chodosh date is Aug 22 '13. If there are no wheat germ or
barley, but there are oats then the Chodosh date is Nov 7 '13. However, the
O-U in Israel stated that ALL Cheerios sold in Israel are Yoshon. The Guide
is maintaining contact with the O-U office in the USA. Once these
differences are resolved, we will issue an update on the Hot Line News and
by email.

*ב **Kemach* Toasted Oats Cereal and Honey Toasted Oats Cereal both  have a
Chodosh Code of October 31, 2013. Under the Hashgocho of Rabbi Nosson N.
Horowitz.

ב* **Quaker*: There are some contradictions for Quaker cereals between the “
ב” and “ד” sections of the cereal listings in the Guide. The “ב” section
contains specific information given to us by the mashgichim and should be
considered correct. The “ד” section should only be used for the items not
listed in the “ב” section. An addition to the “ב” information is that*Cinnamon
 & Spice Oatmeal* Packets have a Chodosh code of Mar 25 14 (540 days after
packing). *For cereals made in Canada*, oats in items packed on Sept 22 or
later may be Chodosh. For those Quaker instant cereals not covered in the “ב”
section of the Guide, the table in the "ד" section is correct for Quaker
oats and other cereals MADE IN THE USA. HOWEVER, Quaker oats MADE IN
CANADA, such as the instant oats packets made in Canada and sold in the USA
(that are not listed in the "ב” section) have a package Chodosh date that
is 7 days earlier than stated in the table. Namely*, for instant oats
packets* made in Canada, the Chodosh date should be Mar 17 14. These with
later dates may be Chodosh. We apologize for not making this clear
distinction between cereals made in the USA and those made in Canada.

*ד **Sturm* Oats Cereals have a code of Sep 30 14 (2 years after packing).
The code for Farina is Aug 9 14.

*ד **Village Farm* Oatmeal – See Sturm above

*9.1 Frozen and other packaged foods*

*ב** Eden *Eggplant Cutlets and other breaded products are Yoshon under the
Hashgocho of Rabbi Ahron Teitelbaum, the Nirbater Rav. Eden *spicy
fries*may be Chodosh.

*ד** Apollo* dough products Chodosh date on the package is Aug 9 ’13 (1
year after packing).

*ד **Dr. Prager’s* Sensible Foods Products not listed under Beis above have
a Chodosh code of August 2014 (2 years after packing. Day was not supplied.)

*ד **Cavendish* fries with wheat products, the Chodosh code should be
30-09-1012 (Sept 30, 2012)

*ד **Glicks Graham *cracker pie crust: Chodosh code:080913 ( 1 year after
packing).* *Alternately,  the code could be 22212 (222=day of year,
12=year).

*ד** **Pennant Foods* Frozen Dough Products have  a Chodosh Code of
2NL222B1 (2=year, NL plant code, 222= day of year, B1=Not important.)

*ס** **Shindler* Fish Products Yoshon status is unknown, based on a
statement by the O-U. The alef listing in the index is in error.

*9.3 Soups and soup mixes*

*ב **Kemach* Vegetable Soup Mixes have a Chodosh Code of 2984 (298=day of
the year, 4=year+2). Ministrone Soup Mixes have  a code of 3524. All other
soup mixes are always Yoshon. Under the Hashgocho of Rabbi Nosson N.
Horowitz.

*9.6 Baby foods*

*ד **Beechnut* Baby Food boxes and jars are marked with a date and a code.
Look only at the top code, at the first 4 digits. For oats the Chodosh Code
for the Chodosh packing date of Sep 30 is 2930 (2=year, 9=Sept, 30=day),
for wheat for Aug 9 the code is 2809 and for barley the code for Aug 15 is
2815.

*12.1 Brooklyn and Manhattan and Long Island*

*12.1.1 Catering and takeout**                *

*א **Dip’s Store* on 13th Ave. in Boro Park is Yoshon under the Hashgocho
of the CRC.

*12.1.2 Wholesale bakeries**    *

*א **Fifteenth Ave. Food Corp* All Products from this company, including
the brands Korn, Sterns, Kohen, New York Kosher and Laromme are Yoshon
including Bran Muffins under the Hashgocho of the CRC and OK Labs

*12.1.6 Five Towns, Long Island**          *

*ס **Off the Grill* in Cederhurst is no longer under hashghocho for Yoshon

*12.4 Jew Jersey*

*א **Lakewood:* Kosher Experience Takeout counter at the Shoprite. All
items made at this takeout facility are Yoshon under the hashgocho of the
O-U

*א **Hershy’s Bakery* is Yoshon under the Hashgocho of Rabbi Klein and
Rabbi Taub.
