The second issue of the Guide to Chodosh is going to the printer today
(Nov 22). It should be mailed out to most paid subscribers within one
week. Meanwhile, the new Guide may be downloaded by sending an email
message to ONE of the following addresses:
chodosh at sefer.org
chodosh at moruda.com

As usual, the second issue of the Guide contains all updates. However,
it is missing some introductory material that appeared in the first
issue. That introductory material, for those who have not seen the
first issue, will be ready for download in a few days. I will send out a
notice to announce it.

Meanwhile below are the all the changes and additions to the first issue
of the Guide that were included in the second issue.

*CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS TO THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE GUIDE*

*_An Apology From Yoseph Herman_*

Due to circumstances beyond our control, several tasks of the Project
Chodosh have lately not been carried out in the usual timely fashion.
The publication of this second issue of the Guide to Chodosh was delayed
several weeks. In addition, questions to the Chodosh Hot Line have
usually been answered before noon each day (Sun-Fri). Recently, we were
sometimes forced to delay recording the answers until the evening and
even to skip one day and record two days' answers at one time. Those who
call in to hear answers recorded to their questions should listen
carefully at the start of the answer recording when the date of the
recording is announced. If the recording is a week old, please call back
later. We apologize for this inconvenience. We hope ??"?to resume the
more timely operation as soon as possible.

*_Hashgochos:_*

*Rabbi Eliezer Schneebalg* of England. All items under his hashgocho are
Yoshon. This includes all Shneider brand candy products.

*Vaad Hakashrus of Kiryas Yoel* does not give any hashgochos for Yoshon.
This means that they will also not take responsibility for the Yoshon
status of Weinstock pasta products or Reisman Bakery in Monroe. (Note
that that this is different from the Reisman Bakery in Brooklyn that is
Yoshon.) The one exception is Quality flour sold in brown paper bags
that is Yoshon under this hashgocho.

malt, then they may be Chodosh after a packing date of Dec 15, or a
purchase date of Jan 15. *Chewy soft pretzels* are from spring wheat and
are probably Chodosh if produced after Aug 9. *Pretzels from whole

can not list these as being Yoshon.

*? Kemach *egg noodles are Yoshon even without a Yoshon label until Jan
