*CORRECTIONS AND ADDITIONS TO THE FIRST ISSUE OF THE GUIDE TO CHODOSH AS *

*OF 23 SEPT 08*

* *

REVISED: Pathmark Supermarkets in the Metropolitan New York area have
been purchased by A&P. Recently, A&P has been substituting for the
Pathmark private brand products, the A&P private brand under the name of
“America’s Choice”. All items in the Guide that refer to Pathmark brand
products should be disregarded. We are still waiting for information
from A&P on America’s Choice products.

CORRECTED: Kemach pasta code change. Kemach elbow macaroni, spaghetti
and lasagna have a Chodosh code of 093010 (2 years after packing.) (The
company just recently switched from a code that was 1 year after packing
to a code that is 2 years after packing.) Kemach soups in tubes that are
currently on the market are all Yoshon. It is not known at this time
when the next production of these soups will take place.

CORRECTED: Old City Café products are Yoshon under the hashgocho of the
O-U and Rabbi Weissmandl. The exception is Old City Café macaroni and
cheese that is only under the O-U and has a Chodosh code of 2148
(214=day of year, 8=year.)

CORRECTED: Peppridge Farms products. The revised codes given in our Sept
15 Bulletin were completely incorrect, due a misunderstanding with the
company’s Consumer Office. We believe that the codes printed in the
Guide are still correct.

Liebers cookies, crackers and pretzels that do not contain oats are
Yoshon at all times, under the hashgocho of Rav Weissmandl. Liebers soup
mixes and onion rings are not recommended as Yoshon until further
updates from the mashgiach.

Kineret and Kosherific onion rings and fish sticks are Yoshon under the
hashgocho of Rav Weissmandl at least until after Sukkos. Further updates
needed after that time. Dough products made in Israel are Yoshon. Dough
products made in the USA or Canada are not recommended as Yoshon at this
time, pending further updates.

Smackin Good knishes are Yoshon under the hashgocho of Rav Weissmandl at
least until after Sukkos. Further updates needed after that time. Other
Smackin Good products are not recommended as Yoshon at this time,
pending further updates.

Franczoz Weisel germinated and Weisel whole wheat breads with a Yoshon
label are Yoshon under the hashgocho of the KAJ, even without a KAJ
label on the package. However the Franczoz 10-grain bread, even with a
Yoshon label is not recommended since there is no hashgocho for Yoshon.

Paskesz rice cakes under the hashgocho of Rav Westheim are always
Yoshon, as are all items under Rav Westheim

Smunchies allergy-free baked goods made in Monsey, NY, are Yoshon under
the hashgocho of the O-U.

Glick’s flour when both an O-U and Yoshon labels are printed on the
package are Yoshon under the hashgocho of the O-U.

Dependable update:Following pasta products are Yoshon under the
hashgocho of Rabbi B. Taub: Flat medium noodles code 233832Z and
233833Z. Medium noodles code 255832Z. Toasted egg barley code 141802Z.

*THE FOLLOWING AS OF 15 SEPT 08*

The first issue of the Guide to Chodosh was mailed out to all paid
subscribers on Wednesday and Thursday, Sept 10 and 11. Hopefully, during
the week ending 20 Sept 08, all paid subscribers in the USA should have
received their copies.

Gold Medal Whole Wheat flour, the Chodosh code on page 31 should have
been Feb 1 09 (6 months after packing.)

Pringles potato chips. The Guide gives a Chodosh date if the ingredients
contain wheat. The same date should be used if they contain wheat starch.

Malt-O-Meal Honey Nut Scooters cereal. The Chodosh code is June 1 09 (10
months after packing.)

Quaker hot oats cereals made in Canada and sold in the USA, the Chodosh
code is March 9 2010 (540 days after packing.)

Oat Dream liquid from the makers of Rice Dream. The Chodosh code is Jul
26 09 (1 year after packing.)

Kosher Deluxe Restaurant, 10 West 46^th St, New York City. Only bakery
items and items or flour in items made at the store are Yoshon. Other
items, including pasta, fried items, barley may be Chodosh. Under the
hashgocho of Rabbi Avrohom Roth.

Laufer Kishke is no longer Yoshon under the hashgocho of Mechon L’Horoah

Malt purchase date cutoff on page 17 of the Guide should be Jan 15 ’09.
This date may be updated on October.

General Mills Cookie Crisp cereal Chodosh code is 372 days after packing.

Cream of Wheat farina is now made by BG Foods. The Chodosh code is Aug
1, 2010 (2 years after packing.)

Manischewitz noodles, pasta, soup mixes without barley, Chodosh code
2290 (229=day of the year, 0=year+2), with barley the code is 2140.

Yossie’s products are under the hashgocho of the CRC for kashrus. There
is no mashgiach for Yoshon. Therefore, despite the Yoshon label on the
package, it is not recommended as Yoshon due to lack of hashgocho for
Yoshon. The pita is fresh with a very short shelf life and is not
recommeded. The bagels have a code of Aug 25 08 (10 days after packing.)
The wraps have a code of sept 26 08 (6 weeks after packing.)
