for mashgichim to attend an urgent meeting to address this problem.
Please note that this meeting is only for mashgichim, plus the industry
experts whom we have invited. Building security will not allow in any

The Guide to Chodosh/Yoseph Herman
Invites mashgichim to an
*URGENT SYMPOSIUM ON*
*AVERTING IMPENDING MAJOR PROBLEMS TO YOSHON FOOD PRODUCTION*
We are facing unprecedented shortages of spring wheat that has usually
been available this time of the year to be stored for next seasons
Yoshon. This is coupled with a corresponding unstable price situation in
the futures markets for spring wheat. As a result, it is quite possible
that methods used until now of producing Yoshon foods from stored Yoshon
spring wheat may be curtailed or be unavailable this coming season. We
must act urgently _now_ to facilitate continued availability of the
Yoshon products that the consumers have been able to purchase in earlier
years from bakeries, restaurants, pizza shops, catering halls and other
establishments, as well as the diversity of packaged Yoshon foods that
have been available at the groceries. The Guide to Chodosh of the last
season listed for the metropolitan New York City area some 195 bakeries,
catering halls, restaurants, pizza shops, etc that have produced Yoshon
under the supervision of mashgichim. In addition we had 53 similar
establishments elsewhere in the US, such as Baltimore, Boston, Los
Angeles, Cleveland, Chicago, Detroit and Miami. Also of great importance
are the many Yoshon packaged foods, including noodles, pastas, and
cookies. Our key contacts to all these establishments and products have
been the Yoshon mashgiach. Therefore, we are inviting the mashgichim to
join us at this symposium to learn and carry back to the companies under
their supervision the extent and nature of the potential major problems
to ongoing Yoshon availability and the possible solutions that may work
if they are acted upon in time.
The symposium will consists of a round table discussion that will bring
together, for the first time ever, all participants of the chain of
Yoshon food production. These will include representatives of:
· Flour mills
· Flour distributors
· Wholesale and retail bakeries and other Yoshon food producers
