FOLLOWING AS OF 9 AUG 06

This bulletin gives final cutoff dates for Chodosh for the new season.
These reflect both the new guidelines being followed by the Guide to
Chodosh, as well as the fact that the harvest of all crops is 1-3 weeks
earlier than normal.

In the table below we summarize the cutoff dates recommended by the Guide.
The Packing dateindicates that all packaged goods with dating codes that
were before that date should be Yoshon. Starting with the Packing dateand
later, they may be Chodosh. The Purchase dateis the first date after which
we advise that you do not purchase the foods without checking for dating
codes. We also give the first purchase date when freshly baked items
produced at the local bakeries and pizza shops may be Chodosh. There are
two dates given. The earlier one is for the mid West such as Chicago,
Cleveland and Detroit. The later date is the remainder of the USA.
