CHODOSH BULLETIN AS OF 9 Aug 06

This bulletin gives final cutoff dates for Chodosh for the new season. It
reflects both the new guidelines being followed by the Guide to Chodosh, as
well as the fact that the harvest of all crops is 1-3 weeks earlier than
normal.

In the table below we summarize the cutoff dates recommended by the Guide.
The Packing dateindicates that all packaged goods with dating codes that
were before that date should be Yoshon. Starting with the Packing dateand
later, they may be Chodosh. The Purchase dateis the last date up to which
we feel it is safe to purchase the foods without checking for dating
codes. We also give the last recommended safe purchase date for freshly
baked items produced at the local bakeries. There are two dates given. The
earlier one is for the mid West such as Chicago, Cleveland and Detroit. The
later date is the remanded of the USA.
