URGENT BULLETIN: CHODOSH TELEPHONE HOT LINE OUT OF ORDER

The Chodosh telephone Hot Line (845-356-5743) has been out of order since 
some time Thursday, Oct 9. The problem is with the telephone line. The 
telephone company repair service has been notified. They expect to correct 
this by Sunday, Oct. 10. Meanwhile, I will try to answer questions 
submitted by E mail as fast as possible as a compensation.

Glicks Graham cracker pie crust probably Yoshon up to a packing date of Aug 
15, code 8/15/04 (1 year after packing).

Quaker table was revised below with 2 additional corrections and a format 
that may be more compatible with peoples E mail readers.

CORRECTION TO THE GUIDE



The following are corrections to the new Guide:



Natural Ovens breads are all Chodosh at this time, with the exception of 
the Best Burger Buns.



Quaker cereal entries on page 25 of the Guide has an error in the text and 
many errors in the Table. The text (#3) states that the Chodosh packing 
date for barley is Dec 15. It should have been Sept 15. The table of 
Chodosh dates for Quaker cereals has many mistakes and should be 
disregarded. Given here is the correct table:

Home Style Cookies. Apparently there are two companies marketing cookies by 
this name. The ones made in Israel under the hashgocho of Rav Landau of Bne 
Brak are Yoshon. The ones coming from Cornwall, NY are probably Chodosh at 
this time.



Manischewitz noodles and pasta code has changed. The probable Chodosh date 
is Sept 15, code 2585 (258=day of the year, 5=year+2).



There are several typographical errors in the Guide:



1)       Kemach flour: on page 20 of the new Guide, under Kemach the 
listing reads KemachError! Bookmark not defined.The text Error bookmark not 
definedshould not have been there. Please ignore it.

2)       For the indexes in the back, the first few items are not in the 
proper alphabetical order.

The first issue of the Guide to Chodosh has gone been mailed out. 
Meanwhile, we have prepared two versions of this Guide to be available by E 
mail, at no charge to your. One is a text only version that any E mail 
reader can read. The other is a PDF file that can only be read by the Adobe 
PDF reader program.



This years Guide has the first major change of format in the 31 years of 
its publication. We have assigned one of 5 categories to each items listed 
in the Guide, indicated by the Hebrew letters aleph, beis, gimmel, daledand 
ches. These are measures of the reliability of the claim to Yoshon and the 
ease of finding the Yoshon item in the stores. These symbols work fine in 
the printed and PDF versions of the Guide. However, they are lost, replaced 
by ?in the text only version.



To order the text only version to be sent to you automatically, send an E 
mail message to:

Make sure you capitalize as shown. DO NOT send this request to the yherman
