CHODOSH NEWS AS OF 3 Mar 02
The Guide to Chodosh , 3rd and final issue of the season was mailed out the
week of Feb. 15. The following are additions and corrections that came up
since the printing of this final Guide:
ROKEACH Sour Strings are Yoshon under the hashgocho of Rav Babad.
All Meal Mart products from their central kitchen are Yoshon INCLUDING egg
rolls, under the hashgocho of the Nirbator Rav, Rav Teitelbaum.
Shlomy's Heimishe Bakery, 4301 16th Ave, Brooklyn, NY (718)633-2209,
854-1766. Bakes Yoshon products. There is no mashgiach to cover Yoshon at
this time.
Chiffon Bakery, Brooklyn. All items are Yoshon. There is no mashgiach to
cover Yoshon at this time.
Honey Nut Cheerios was left out of the chart for General Mills on page 23
of the new Guide. This should have been included in the line dealing with
the package date being 310 days after packing, as in the previous issue of
the Guide.
Miller Beer, the probable Chodosh code should be 4 15 2.
Lakewood, NJ the local contact for Chodosh information is now Rabbi Joseph
Greenfeld, 700 Twin Oaks Drive, (732) 364-1979.
Kellogs Corn Flake Crumbs. It appears that the package code may have
changed to conform with other Kellogs cereals, namely 1 year after packing.
In that case the probable Chodosh code for the malt is Jan 15 03.
Quaker cereals in small 1-serving bags. The code for this was printed in
the second issue of the Guide but not carried over to the 3rd issue. For
oats, the Chodosh packing date is Aug 21, code 1M21H3 (1=year, M=not
important, 21=day, H=Aug in alph. Order)
