CHODOSH UPDATES

However, this Bulletin supercedes the earlier Bulletins.




This year the relevant Chodosh information is coming in slower than in earlier
years. As a result, we now project that the Guide should be printed
approximately by Sept 17. Meanwhile, we hope to keep you updated by E mail or 
the Hot Line.

The following dates are given as guidelines until the Guide is published.

Freshly baked products in local bakeries such as breads, challehs, rolls,
bagels probably Chodosh starting: Sept 8 in the East and Far West, Aug 25
in the
Mid West.
Packaged foods containing wheat, other than pasta: Definitely Yoshon up to a
packing date of Aug 25. Probably Yoshon if purchased up to Sept 14. After that
package codes have to be used.
Packaged pasta probably safe if packed before Sept 25, probably safe to
purchase
up to Oct 15
Foods containing oats probably safe if packed up to Oct 15, probably safe to
purchase up to Oct 30.
Foods containing barley (other than malt) probably safe if packed up to Oct 23,
probably safe to purchase up to Nov 6.

OATS: The following are the Chodosh packing dates by company:
Arrowhead Mills Aug 21
ConAgra, Pathmark, Shoprite Oct 15
General Mills Sept 18
Quaker Sept 1
Ralston, HO Jan 1
International Home Foods (Maypo) Oct 2

BARLEY: The following are Chodosh packing dates by company:
Arrowhead Mills Sept 4
Benco, Geffen, Jack Rabbit, Pathmark, Peak, Tender Cook, Trinidad, UngerNov 1
Goya Nov 1
Martisco Sept 18

The Guide is expected back from the printer (BS”D) on Sept 14. It is scheduled
to be mailed out to the local dealers and individual subscribers on Sept 17.

"get" (without the quotes) followed by the name of the file that you want. Type
each request on a new line. Make sure that you copy the file name exactly as
spelled including capital letters. These reports are now available:

get Guidelines.txt
This gets a long report on Guidelines to Mashgichim on Chodosh

get Crops.txt
This gets the estimates of percentage Yoshon for this year.

get News.txt
The latest news. This Bulletin at this time.
